Fellow Cornishman Tom Lowe grew up just down the road from us in St Ives and is one of the biggest names in the world of big wave surfing. It was over in Ireland where Tom really made a name for himself as a big wave charger who will paddle into the type of waves that give most of us nightmares. Tom has earned his place amongst the elite big wave surfers by paying his dues and putting in the work, his accomplishments have been hard earned with the scars to prove it.
The 25/26 winter season was a phenomenal year for Tom which is all the more impressive considering he came back from a second near death experience at Teahupo'o. Tom scored what is considered the biggest wave ever paddled at Mullaghmore and one of the longest heaviest barrel rides we have ever seen at Puerto Escondido, Mexico. This hard work earned him the title of Big Wave Challenge surfer of the Year 2026.
We are extremely proud of everything Tom has achieved, putting Cornwall on the map and elevating the status of all UK & Irish surfers.
