A scaled-down version of the Uber Driver, the Uber Grom keeps all the easy-riding, easy-paddling performance that made the UberDriver and UberXL such hits with adults.
Designed with young, developing surfers in mind (not contest level advanced surfers), Matt Biolos teamed up with his 10-year-old son, River an intermediate rider to create a board that makes everyday waves and crowded lineups more fun, approachable, and progression-friendly.

- A wider plan shape, low entry rocker, and fuller volume make it forgiving and stable ideal for building foundational skills.
- A kicked-up tail and bump/wing in the outline add performance by opening up the "sweet spot" making it easier for kids to stand in the right place and still throw proper turns.
- The Uber Grom is perfect for kids moving up from soft tops or oversized all-level boards, but who aren’t quite ready for a full high-performance shortboard. It’s also become the go-to groveler for more advanced groms. In regions with consistently tiny waves, it’s even a smart option for advanced rippers.
Sizing Tips:
The Uber Grom is intended to be ridden at the child’s current height when skill is modest. As the child grows and gets better at surfing the board will effectively size down turning it from an everyday board into more of performance shortboard.
