The Groove is Rob Machado’s highest-performance surfboard design to date, blending his hybrid design DNA with the features typical of a more high-performance shortboard. The Groove has more nose and tail rocker for tighter and more critical turns in the pocket. The Groove maintains paddle-friendly width and thickness up front with a refined squash tail for sharp, responsive surfing.
Rob designed the Groove for waist-high to overhead waves with some power, though it still performs well in weaker surf (not quite a groveler). The board represents his return to performance-focused designs after years of experimenting with alternative shapes.

Helium Construction
A stringerless EPS core with flex controlled at the rails made from Paulownia and Balsa wood - this construction is light and lively underfoot, and excellent at generating speed in everyday waves.
