The Stab in the Dark 10 winner: the DRK is the winning submission from shaper Dan Mann that was picked by Kelly Slater. The DRK has a very similar outline to the FRK but features tweaked rails and an updated foil profile making the DRK more balanced under the chest. Dan and Kelly have also pushed the wide point forward allowing the tail to be pulled in slightly, adding increased sensitivity and responsiveness. Dann was keen not to alter the features that made the FRK so successful as such the bottom contours, rocker, and fin placement are all very similar to the FRK.
The DRK is all about high-performance and is designed to push the limits in decent waves with power and shape. Best suited for the head-high to slightly overhead range it is also surprisingly versatile in less-than-perfect conditions.
