Kelly Slater has the Gamma as his all round short board of choice. Kelly has made use of his interest in CAD board design and a lot of testing various prototypes to develop this extremely fast and drivey all round shortboard.

Over the past year Kelly has worked with many top shapers, covering a vast range of different shapes and ideas. Above this, it has been the speed and quick directional changes provided by his own personal design that has really excited him.
The Gamma has a single concave bottom with a slight vee behind the back fin, making this board fast and lively. The vee out the back allows for you to get on either rail with ease, and the distinct hip gives it a tighter turning radius. This allows the board to be ridden in the shorter wider dimensions set as well as the higher performance dims set. You will notice the board has two sets of dimensions for most sizes.. These are the "standard" dims and "HP" dims.
The Gamma has a medium rocker, and the rails are medium to slightly pinched.
LFT - Linear Flex Technology - A fibreglass and epoxy sandwich with an EPS core and Firewire's new Springer HD... a 0.75” (18 mm) wide aerospace composite that runs down the centre-line of the board, representing the next generation in their 'Springer' technology. Unlike the original balsa Springer build, which only added stiffness under the front foot, the Springer HD runs the entire length of the board and plays a pivotal role in optimizing flex from nose to tail.
