The new Acid Phish is a refined, sleeker, and more performance-driven evolution of Chris Christenson’s iconic fish design. It brings that timeless speed and smooth flow we’ve all come to love, but with added capability to handle steeper, more powerful waves. It’s everything you loved about the original fish, but more dialled in for an exceptional high-performance experience.

Acid Phish vs Christenson Fish
Fresh in-store, Chris Christenson's Acid Phish instantly sets itself apart. With his eye for detail and a talent beyond most, Chris has created a board that quickly stands out from all the other fish designs out there.
Designed for surfers chasing more from their traditional fish, the model strips away some foam, adds a bladed feel, and introduces a tighter, more responsive outline, making it a standout option for bigger, punchier conditions while still maintaining that smooth, down-the-line speed.
What Makes the Acid Phish Different?
Unlike the more traditional, fuller Christenson Fish, the Acid Phish trims the fat—literally. The rails are finer, the outline sleeker, and the overall feel more agile. It’s a fish that wants to be surfed more aggressively. Let's take a closer look:
The tail outline has been pulled in considerably when compared to the original Chris Fish, allowing for a tighter, more in-the-pocket feel, which translates to more critical and snappier turns during your surf. The unique style of the Acid Phish allows you to push your surfing ability to the next level with more control and speed than you have experienced in the past.
The clearest comparison is evident in the side profile; the Acid Phish is significantly thinner and features more rocker than the traditional Christenson Fish, particularly in the nose and tail. This allows for not only more controlled critical turns in steeper parts of the wave but also later take-offs.
Chris has also introduced his latest iteration of the reverse vee concave on the bottom, a very versatile contour that is shared with the Long Phish II. This tweak gives the Acid Fish a responsive, lively underfoot feel that has become a staple in his most recent shapes. The result? A board that paddles beautifully, flies down the line, and holds its own in more critical sections.
Want to see it in action? Be sure to check out some killer footage of Oscar Langbourne tearing it up on one of these boards — it’s a masterclass in how the Acid Phish performs in real-world conditions.
His smooth, flowing style highlights the board’s ability to hold speed, glide and drive through turns, even when the wave face gets super vertical. The footage is a perfect match for what the Acid Phish is all about: clean lines, tight turns, and modern fish performance - a refined shape that showcases Chris Christenson’s craftsmanship like no other.
