Vouch Mid Vish Review
During a period of roughly 2 years I surfed the Mid Vish nonstop without touching another board. I have surfed every wave from waist high summer junk all the way up to solid double overhead hollow reef breaks. This is by far my most surfed board and it has consistently given me some of the best surf sessions I have ever had.

My Mid Vish is 6'6" x 21" x 2 11/16" which is small for a mid-length, however as I weigh about 66kg it's probably a good 10+ litres more than what I would typically ride in a shortboard it also close to the limit of what I can reliably duck dive.

I typically ride mine with a set Futures ENs I personally found keels a bit too stiff initially but now I can surf it with any twin fin set.

I wanted a board that would allow me to take it easy in the summer months when the waves are smaller and weaker. I wanted a board that would allow me to catch more waves and cruise all the way to shore without pumping. The Mid Vish did exactly that and my wave count went up dramatically.

The flat rocker and extra volume up front allow it to catch absolutely anything and on a typical beach break I often sit out close to the longboarders. The Mid Vish also allows you to get into waves extremely early and get ahead of any fast sections that you would typically be too deep to make. It doesn't so much race down the line it seems to teleport to the other side of the wave.

My initial view that this was just a summer fun board changed when I surfed a solid double overhead swell at the local beach (Godrevy). The Mid Vish excelled at long paddle runs, big open-faced turns and racing down the line.

It took me a few surfs to adjust to a new stance which is much more back foot focussed but learning how to cutback a board of this size has also made my shortboard cutbacks much better. I now lean into my turns harder and can hold the board on rail for much longer than I could prior to owning my Mid Vish.

The Mid Vish also generates speed easily and just a small step into the middle of the board will accelerate it out of most sections. You rarely find yourself trying catch back up to the wave after completing a big turn.

When it comes to steep waves as long as you can position yourself nice and early you can set a line for the barrel the refined rail will stick in the face like glue. It's an excellent barrel rider that can generate speed instantly meaning you can actually stall harder and get deeper because the board more often than not has the ability to get you back out. Prior to owning the Mid Vish I had only ever made a handful of scrappy barrels.

Based on my experiences I think the Mid Vish is both a fun summer cruiser and a solid charger for fast down the line waves. It's not a board for hitting the lip but it does carve up an open face like nothing else and it catches waves with ease. It's also my go-to board for conditions that are frustrating or if there's a large crowd. I pack this board for every session regardless of the forecast.
