One of the best twin pins in a busy market, the Revolution features Jim's new Future Form bottom contours, with a Full Length Vee (FLV) within a deep concave.
We've been really excited about these boards for quite some time. Speaking to Jim when he was first developing this board, his excitement for this model was clear. He had a major breakthrough with some design features and concepts, and the proof is in the pudding—these boards have been absolutely amazing.
The boards work well in a range of different waves. Jim designs them in four different dimensions, allowing for shorter, wider boards for smaller, weaker surf and longer, narrower boards for better waves. He even makes them up to 9ft guns for surfing at Uluwatu when it's huge.
It has a nice pintail and a pulled-in nose, somewhat like a Magic Carpet. It's a twin fin, with one of its main features being the unique bottom shape. Jim's "Future Form" bottom is an full-length-vee within a concave. This gives the board its magic touch, generating tons of speed and making it super smooth through turns and at high speeds. The twin fin, coupled with the round tail and future form bottom, makes for a versatile board that performs well in steeper, bigger waves.
When it comes to fins, the top pick for this board is the Jim Banks Hooker Keels. Initially, Justin used a set of Futures K2 keels, which worked well, but once he switched to the Hookers, the board's performance improved significantly. Loads of drive and allow you to push harder through turns.
The Revolution has become a favorite among many of our customers. Our friends Lanyon and Morley have been loving theirs. Morley has been sharing some GoPro footage on his YouTube channel riding his Revolution locally that's well worth a watch. We've also seen incredible footage of Jack Johns taking his Revolution to the Mentawais, plus we know he's been enjoying it loads at his home reef as well.
Shop Manager Justin put his name on one for himself as soon as we confirmed our first delivery. A few months later, this is what he had to say...
"Personally, I've been enjoying my Revolution at home in various conditions, from bigger pumping days at our local beaches to windy, choppy, smaller days too. The board flies and works well in all conditions. Construction-wise, the Carbon Basalt EPS is great, and handles chop and windy conditions better than other EPS epoxy boards. They surf more like PU boards".
The Revolutions are available in epoxy basalt and PU. If you have any questions or want to order one, whether custom or from our stock, feel free to visit us anytime, give us a call, drop us an email, or send us a message.
